Bahasa Melayu Version of Website Launched, 26 July 2010
The New Media and the Informed Citizen website is now available in a Bahasa Melayu version. The Bahasa version of the NMIC website has the full functionality of the original English version of the website and is also hosted on the Paradigm Infinitum website.
"The release of the Bahasa version of the website is an important milestone in the project. We are very pleased that this aspect of the project brief has now been fulfilled. We are looking forward to the release of the final version of the report, which is imminent," said Shona Leppanen-Gibson, NMIC project team member and General Manager of Paradigm Infinitum.
The translation of and advice on the website was performed in Malaysia by Liza Masrina binti Ibrahim who is also multi-lingual and speaks several languages fluently. Shortly after Liza undertook the task of translating the website, she was badly hurt in a car accident. Despite these circumstances, Liza still performed the translation very quickly. Liza is also currently completing the translation of the final report into Bahasa.
"We were very worried for Liza when she had her accident, and we fully expected her to put off the translation until she had recuperated from her injuries. However, she just kept producing translations for us, even while she was hospitalised. She certainly surpassed all our expectations and showed such commitment to the project, and for that we are very grateful," said Shona.
