Programme Structure

The Executive Coaching Programme is highly flexible and responsive to individual needs. but generally covers the following steps:

  1. Self-reflection
  2. Leadership and Linking Skills
  3. Strategic Thinking Skills
  4. Leadership and Management Toolkit
  5. Continuous Self Improvement

Step 1: Self-Reflection

The executive coaching begins by examining and understanding the work preferences, emotional intelligence, and attitudinal approaches of the individual. The Team Management System is used to build a profile of the individual, to help them understand their own personal work preferences and how these impact on their communication styles, relationships at work, decision making processes, and methods of organising themselves. Once a profile of the self is built up and understood, the individual can better reflect on the impact they have on the people around them as well.

Step 2: Leadership and Linking Skills

A leader needs to be able to bring the organisation's goals, people, resources, and tasks together effectively in order to make a positive impact on his colleagues and to fulfil his/her role as a leader. Utilising the Team Management System Linking Leadership Skills profile, 360 degree feedback is collected from the individual's workplace to examine how well the individual performs this important leadership task for his/her team. The feedback is then used to reflect on the individual's leadership effectiveness, and as a starting point to identify personal strengths and weaknesses.

Step 3: Strategic Thinking Skills

Strategic thinking skills are a must for anyone who holds or aspires to leadership roles, and requires a new mindset. Paradigm Infinitum's consultants work intensively with the individual to help them to understand their own organisation in a strategic sense, and to develop and apply their strategic thinking abilities. Strategic thinking, scenario planning, and strategic management are covered in an intensive way. The individual is coached to examine all situations strategically, to consider all stakeholders and all environmental variables. The individual is also coached to look holistically and consider the perspectives of colleagues up, down and laterally with regards to the heirarchy of their organisation, to develop not only a strategic mindset, but to understand the impact of issues and decisions on those around them.

Step 4: Leadership and Management Toolkit

The Leadership and Management Toolkit consists of highly practical tools that the individual is coached to use to deal with real-life issues at the workplace. It is tailor-made to suit the needs of the individual and may include a selection of tools that is gradually accumulated throughout the coaching relationship, dealing with areas such as:

  • Conflict Management
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Dealing with Adversity
  • Dealing with Difficult People
  • Turnaround Strategies
  • Marketing Planning
  • Relationship Management
  • Change Management
  • Human Resource Management
  • Organisational Development
  • Performance Management
  • Project Management
  • Information Technology Management
  • Internationalisation Issues
  • Morale Building
  • Mergers
  • Downsizing and cost control
  • Contingency Planning
  • Business Continuity Planning
  • Stress Management
  • Building Teams
  • Managing Diversity
  • New Product Development
  • Negotiation
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Process Improvement

Step 5: Continuous Self Improvement

Continuous Self-Improvement is the step that links all previous steps to the continuing personal and professional development of the individual. This step enables the individual to self-reflect, and to consider the work preferences of others and the results of 360 degree feedback assessments, within a strategic, operational and tactical context, and to work with the executive coach using a personalised development plan to address areas for development in order to continue to maximise leadership potential.
