Paradigm Infinitum CEO appointed to the Australia Malaysia Business Council (Queensland) Exco

25 September 2006

Paradigm Infinitum CEO Mr Wai Kiong Chan was recently appointed Secretary of the Australia-Malaysia Business Council (Queensland).

According to Mr Chan, the main task for 2006-2007 is to build AMBCQ into a highly rigorous and proactive business council that promotes trade and business links between Australian and Malaysian businesses. "I am very pleased to take up this role and am committed to helping build the AMBCQ into a strong and dynamic organisation."

"With the Australia-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement currently under negotiation, there are vast opportunities for Australia and Malaysia to benefit from our strong ongoing relationship. The AMBCQ had become dormant as an organisaton over the last few years, even though Australia's business relationship with Malaysia is strong and vibrant. Those of us on the organisation's executive committee need to ensure that we not only rebuild the organisation, but also that we rebuild the business community's confidence in the organisation," said Mr Chan.

Mr Chan said that the AMBCQ could help to showcase Queensland products and services and introduce Queensland businesses to counterparts in Malaysia and vice versa. Mr Chan also said that the AMBCQ will collaborate with Australian and Malaysian government agencies to promote business links between the two countries.
