Cocktail Reception with Malaysian Consul for Investment and Director of the Malaysia Industrial Development Authority (MIDA)

Paradigm Infinitum managers and members of the Australia-Malaysia Business Council (Queensland) Ms Shona Leppänen-Gibson and Mr Wai Kiong Chan recently helped to organise a cocktail reception for Mr S Jaswant, Malaysian Consul for Investment, and Director of the Malaysia Industrial Development Authority (MIDA).

Mr Jaswant informed the audience about investment opportunities in different industries in Malaysia. Also discussed were incentives offered by the Malaysian government.

Mr Chan, Secretary of the AMBCQ, said, "It was an excellent opportunity to discuss business issues with the Consul and to share experiences with other business people who have an interest in Malaysia. Consul Jaswant's knowledge and expertise were certainly appreciated by all who attended the function."

The function, supported by Australian Senator Russell Trood and former Queensland MLA and Parliamentary Secretary Mr Bob Harper, was held in the Australian Prime Minister’s boardroom at Waterfront Place, Brisbane. Guests included Brisbane City Councillor Graham Quirk, Austrade Queensland State Manager Mr Cameron McMillan and prominent Malaysian-Australian businessman, Dr Peter Yeoh (YTY Group).
