Paradigm Infinitum Executive becomes Vice-President of the Australia Malaysia Business Council (Queensland)
Paradigm Infinitum manager Ms Shona Leppanen-Gibson was recently appointed Vice-President of the Australia-Malaysia Business Council (Queensland). According to AMBCQ President Mr Leong Teoh, Ms Leppanen-Gibson’s membership of the AMBCQ executive committee would be highly valuable and would help the organisation to expand its activities in the state.
According to Ms Leppanen-Gibson, Australian exports to Malaysia in 2005-2006 amounted to more than 2.5 billion dollars, of which 18.5% came from Queensland. “The Malaysian market is worth $468 million to the Queensland economy. While this is a healthy figure, we need to ensure that our exports to Malaysia continue to grow”, she said.
"The Australia-Malaysia Business Council (Queensland) has an important role to play in this expansion, helping to further cement business links and encourage both Australian and Malaysian businesses to seek new opportunities. With the Australia-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement currently being negotiated, businesses that place themselves well now can only stand to gain as the negotiations progress," Ms Leppanen-Gibson said.
