Malaysia Briefing provided by Paradigm Infinitum

19 December 2007

Australian Volunteers International (AVI), a non-profit organisation specialising in overseas placements for aid volunteers, recently approached Paradigm Infinitum to provide briefing sessions on Malaysia. The clients were Australian Federal Police agents and their spouses, about to disembark for postings in Malaysia. Paradigm Infinitum was only too happy to assist, and General Manager Shona Leppanen-Gibson provided briefing sessions including a Country Overview and a Westerner’s Perspective. Ms Leppanen-Gibson, a regular traveller to Malaysia for over 10 years, has been an avid observer of business, economy and politics in Asia, and is the current Senior Vice-President of the Australia Malaysia Business Council Qld.

“ Malaysia is a wonderful place to work and visit, but as with all overseas postings, a well grounded knowledge of the country really enriches the experience. And personal experience is invaluable – I was particularly pleased that through my recent travels in Malaysia with my infant son I was able to provide some important tips to the federal agents and their families,” Ms Leppanen-Gibson said.

Ms Leppanen-Gibson attended briefing sessions in Cairns and Brisbane on behalf of AVI. Only a nominal fee was charged, in recognition of AVI's status as a non-profit organisation.
