Paradigm Infinitum Launches

"Institute of Strategic and International Studies" Think Tank

3 June 2008

As a way of delivering extra value and continuing to engage with its clients, Paradigm Infinitum has launched a new arm, the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (or ISIS), a think tank that will offer networking, research and engagement to its members.

"Paradigm Infinitum has established ISIS with the intention of developing a longer term and more meaningful engagment with our clients and with participants on our courses. Leadership and strategic management are our core business, and we don't want the relationship with our course participants to stop when they finish a course - there is so much more to strategy and leadership which needs to be learnt over years, not just during the duration of a course," said CEO and co-chair Kiong Chan.

"Membership of ISIS will initially be open to all former LEAD programme participants. Participants will have the opportunity to become associate fellows and fellows of the Institute by submitting research papers and our staff will support and encourage this. The Institute will be engaging in a range of activities focusing on objective policy analysis and fostering dialogue and debate within and between the public sector, the private sector, elected representatives, academia and the informed public. It is not only a way to give back to our clients, but also to give back to the wider community, " said Mr Chan.

Mission :

The mission of ISIS is to analyse and promote the understanding of major international and strategic issues and current affairs in order to contribute to the development of policy and the strengthening of liberal democracy/the betterment of society. The Institute examines areas such as social policy, military strategy, political strategy, economy, science and technology issues, and corporate and business policies.

Its programmes are directed towards six major areas of interest:

  1. Emerging Issues and Strategic Trends.
  2. Defence, Security, Trade and Foreign Affairs.
  3. Local, National, Regional and International Political Economy.
  4. Leadership, Organisational and Community Capacity Building.
  5. Social Development, International Understanding and Cooperation.
  6. Science, Technology, Industry, Energy and Natural Resources.
