Strategic Planning Workshop Run for Non-Profit Organisation
As part of its commitment to supporting the Australian community, Paradigm Infinitum recently ran a one-day Strategic Planning Workshop for the Australia Malaysia Business Council (Qld) Inc (AMBCQ). The one day workshop was held at Paradigm Infinitum's offices in Adelaide Street, and all AMBCQ members were invited to participate. The Strategic Planning Workshop was facilitated by Paradigm Infinitum free of charge, and the venue and refreshments provided on the day were also free for the AMBCQ.
The Strategic Planning Workshop included a briefing on AMBCQ's history, its development, and its current challenges. The Paradigm Infinitum facilitators, Shona Leppanen-Gibson and Kiong Chan, utilised a number of tools to involve participants in analysing AMBCQ's strategic environment, including Stakeholder Analysis, PESTEL Analysis, Futures Analysis and SWOT Analysis.
Paradigm Infinitum has a strong relationship and affinity with the AMBCQ. Kiong Chan, Paradigm Infinitum CEO and Senior Consultant, is the current President, while Shona Leppanen-Gibson, General Manager and Senior Consultant with Paradigm Infinitum, is the Senior Vice-President. In addition, Paradigm Infinitum has run the AMBCQ secretariat as a free service since its reactivation in 2006 and regularly sponsors the AMBCQ annual Australia-Malaysia Ball.
"The AMBCQ has grown very rapidly over the last four years. Starting from a zero base, with no financial members, it is now the largest AMBC chapter in Australia, with the most active membership," said Kiong Chan.
"WIth such rapid growth, it is very important to take the time to continually review the path forward. It is easy to become complacent, or to make assumptions that everything is going well. All organisations, no matter how big or small, need to stop occasionally, check what is going on around them, and then assess which direction they want to go in. It was an invaluable exercise, and I am sure it will make a strong impact on the AMBCQ's future growth and direction in the long term."
